Pants in Junior Extra Large vs. Sr. Small

I need to buy my son some better pants. I saw a good deal on a pair that is Junior XL, but I can't find any sizing chart that tells me what that is.

My understanding is that Jr. Large is 28"-30" waist and that Sr. small starts at 30" waist.....so where does Jr. XL come in? Is the cut or the length different?

CCM is the brand I was looking at for him.

Just throwing this out there but the senior pants probably have a longer pant vertically but the waist is the same as the junior xl.

Mission is the only brand I carry that does that, here are those sizes.

Jr XL 28-30 waist

Sr Small 30-32 waist

I think that may be right. The senior small seemed a little long in the thigh for him. I've always had problems finding the right fit too as I have short legs. I hate having too much overhang of my thigh guards over my shins.

I still wear suspenders to keep my pasnts from sliding down during the course of a game.

I think I'll keep shopping and see if a Junior Large in any brand is a good fit for him. There is a lot more selection in Jr. Large. Jr. XL is usually a one off item at our local shop.

If you have issues with pant length Tackla makes their 9000 pant in tall or short in addition to standard and Mission has an adjustment system on theirs. You can shorten the Mission pant by an inch and a half by unsnapping the bottom of the pant and snapping it on the second, higher set of buttons. It's a great feature and comes on the L7, L5 and L3.
