Tampa re-signs St. Louis

Recommended Posts

Obviously its a good signing for the Lightning, but does 6 years seem like a lot to anyone else? If it was a Sundin, Forsberg, or Naslund type player who has put up big numbers consistantly, then I could understand. But St. Louis has really only had 2 really good years.

Kosy I see your point there but I think the risk of losing him was to great. Anyone have any idea how there going to keep Richards or Boyle?

One of the big three will be traded next year after the playoffs. You can't have 3 guys tie up $15M-$18M of your cap and still have quality guys at other positions.

I would love to see the Rangers try a trade to get Richards. Maybe send Lundmark, etc, etc over there. Wishful thinking, I know.

Very wishful thinking. I can't see Lundmark having any value now. Most people think that if he were to become a productive player he would already have done it by now.

I agree, as good as St. Louis numbers have been he isn't the guy to carry the team. I definately think Richards and Vinny carried the load for them in the playoffs. Not saying St. Louis didn't play well, but he seems like a good player, and I think 4-4.5 seems to be the rate for a guy like him. Vinny's contract put Tampa in a bind because it set a standard, but I don't think St. Louis is on a level with the guys you mentioned, they are the heart and soul of their teams.

Kosy hatin' on St. Louis again...LOL...

What can I say? This is the first thing I've had to bitch about in over a year. I have to jump on my chances.

Ya i see richards getting traded next season

I would think it's St Louis who will go.

since richards' the rumoured next captain

I highly doubt Richards would get captinancy, while Vinny is around.
