Jbone 0 Report post Posted August 28, 2005 I am an employee of Tim Hortons. I started in February, precisely when they were adopting their new "Always Fresh" baking system. I could not figure out how they were producing all these donuts with no fryer in sight, so I inquired with a manager, who told me about the new system, and not to tell anyone. Fryers in stores were ripped out and replaced with giant walk-in freezers and a special frozen-donut-reheating oven.The donuts and other baked goods are partially baked in a plant in southern Ontario, frozen solid and shipped to stores accross the country to be reheated, decorated and served in-store. Doesn't sound very fresh to me. I get dozens of complaints about the donuts every day. The main complaint is that the baked products are smaller. If you want a better donut, and a better cup of coffee, try Robin's Donuts. Tim Hortons may pay my bills, but deserves no respect when it comes to the donut industry. They had that on the news one time because someone got a frozen donut. LkptTiger 1 Report post Posted August 29, 2005 Sorry, but I'm a Krispy Kreme guy :)I can't believe I am actually saying this, but KK is the better of the two when it comes to doughnuts.
