at my LHS the Vapor XXXs are $699, Pro Tacks are $699 and the RBK 8ks are $699. The Kor Shift 1's are also $699. All CDN. Also that skate has been around for a bit now.

Nexttime please search, there are countless topics on them.

Sorry, but I searched and mine is the only topic that is reasonably accessible on this skate model.

I'm sure there are Americans interested in this skate since it is only available through Canadian dealers.

Viva la topic!

Around for a while in Canada, not at all in the US!

You can actually get them in the US, Chadd has them in his store. I know the search is pretty bad but if you scan through about the next 10 pages in this section you'll find topics on KOR.

Viva la topic!

Dus to limitations of the software we use searching is not possible on less than 4 characters.

As for the skates, we have been discussing them off and on for the last year or so. Discussion picked up after the trade show in January when many of us had a chance to see and try on the skates. As mentioned, I'm in the US and I have them in my shop. Our first pair came late in the spring and the rest arrived in June or July.

The technology came from the speed skating world, so it's no surprise that you recognized them as such. It's a very interesting concept that has worked out well for some and not as well for others as noted in a recent topic that started out about Mission L7s.

All I had to go on on where to find them was Kor's dealer list, which unfortunately doesn't list any US retailers.

I had no problems finding the US Store Locator.

Chadd,

How has the sell-through been on the KOR skates? Which models did you bring in and what are the price points you have?

Peter

Ahh, I didn't realize you had to click on the USA header.

We brought in a limited amount, and have sold through about half of our inventory. There is only one model, the shift 1 and we're selling it for $449 just like everyone else.

My stores out here in the West sell it for $479-529USD. They all have had success with it.

The tryout period for these skates is 7-10 days. They are a very nice skate and in a month or two i will give a detailed review. All i can say now is so far so good.

Actually, dealers can run the Test Drive Program for as long (or short) as they want. Some dealers will go for 7-10 days, and others for 3-4 days.

What is the test-drive program??

And what do they fit more close to?? CCM style or Bauer style??

cobrAA,

I have found them to fit 1/2 size larger than Bauer (Bauer 8 = Kor 8 1/2).

Oh i don't know thats just the time period Vince told me. Thats kinda crappy if they only give ya 3-4 days to try out a skate.

i think on every big brand skate(skate that are selling for 400cnd$ and more) you should be able to demo them for maybe 5-6 days!

Peter,

I have a dealer that ordered 20 pairs and has sold 14 in 7 weeks, with no Test Drive Program in place, and, at $479.99USD.

A dealer that just received their shipment this past Thursday sold 6 pairs in one night. I told JR about this and he could only laugh.

I guess it comes down to what the store wants to push and make money on. Sure, I know that Bauer XXX is an easy sell because people come in and ask for it. However, what margins are you making on it? Some stores aren't making as much as they should on product in general and then crying poverty because of it. I have found that a dealer can make great margins in this skate if they want.

Feel free to PM me if you want to chat about this more.

I disagree with you.

Right now, there are only two companies that are doing demos, one of which is Kor. If a store is ultimately responsible for all of the skates in their Test Drive Program, why not limit the time that the skates are out on demo? If I am a store owner, I want to capture that sale as soon as I can, not in 7-10 days.

You don't think 3-4 days is enough when other companies aren't doing it at all?

The way we did it here was i payed for the skates and if i had any problems i could either come back and get them baked again ior exchange them for another skate. I know not all companys offer this but i wanted this more than with any other skate i've bought because i've never skated in Kors before and had been told they are very different than other skate models. I know its not mandatory and not alot of companys do it but it definetly set my mind at ease when i bought these skates.

**EDIT**

I was only saying 3-4 days is not enough because i don't have the best ice access and it would probabaly take me 7-10 days to get 3 good skates on them.
