easton warranty

Recommended Posts

hi, i would just like to hear some of your input on a problem i am having. please contribute if you have a serious opinion or suggestion. i reccently bought a si-core grip on sale 10 days ago. I have used it for 6 ice times of one and a half hours each. Today the shaft of the stick snapped just under the E of EASTON that is written across the bottom of the shaft, about 10 inches from the blade. The shaft is snapped on the inner side of the stick (im right handed) and it happened during a scrimmage where i was body-checked by two guys against the boards trying to pin down a man. The break is perfectly straight though, and i am afraid that if sent to Easton they may think it was intentionally broken. I didnt detach off the bottom half yet, and i plan to tape up the break and send it in 1 piece incase they suspect any misuse. This was an expensive stick for my budget, and my LHS has offered to give me store credit of what i paid towards another stick. While that is very generous of them, I cant really find another high end stick at that price. So I have to decide if I should take my chances and send the stick to Easton, or take the credit that was offered. The lady on the phone informed me that if they coudlnt find a si-core in that flex/curve, they would most likely send an ST because i bought the stick on sale $150 CDN + tax. Any suggestions? Im just afraid they refuse to replace the stick and therefore im helpless.

That would be ideal. Ive called around the city, nothing is left. But some of the employees dont sound too dedicated, I intend to call back to double check.

You're not going to be able to find si-cores for much longer so I would start getting used to something different.

To be honest the two sticks i've had the most success with are both drury patterns around 80-90 flex. Im not afraid i wont be able to find another si core, anything in the same pattern and flex would be great (just not the green ST :o). Im just afraid if i send in the stick I will get noting. I didnt really even flex the stick or misuse it at all, it just broke from a check. But the break is so straight it makes me nervous. And the fact that its on the inner side of the stick means it wasn't broken by a shot.

Call the warranty department and talk to them about it. My buddy had an SL break in a way that looked like it was from being stepped on and he had the same concerns that you did, they understood and took care of him.

easton is usually really cool with the returns, but still i thought youre supposed to get an SL for a si core, i mean i know you got it on sale but still you should talk with them, i know my brother broke on of his sticks and he talked with them and got a sythesis shaft and two wood blades instead of a new syn bomb

thanks. i think i may call in again and ask them to put in a note about how it was broken. i actually found the same stick in a 100 flex about an hour and a half away from here. Im going to call easton back and if im positive they will replace the stick i may send it, but i dont know if i will take the risk. thanks for the help

That may not be covered under warranty.
