peter bondra just signed for 505,000us with the thrashers which i think is a total steal for atlanta but here is the funny part... "The incentive-laden contract guarantees him a base salary of $505,000 US but he could earn another $2.9 million in bonuses if the Thrashers win the Stanley Cup." :lol: if i was the GM of the oilers i would give him 6 mill as a bonus if we won the cup... which will NEVER HAPPEN... :P

i thought he was offered 2 mill over there but wanted more... something went very wrong i guess. anyone would sign this guy for 2 mill easy think... this guy is a shoe in for 30 goals.

you think so... i think he'll get in the mid to high 30s this season... he is getting old but still has one of the best shots in the nhl and he did get 21 goals in 54 games last season with the caps... he could of easily gotten more then 30 goals last time around if the sens didn't screw him over. with the new rules and him being a first line winger in the atlanta lineup he'll get his +30 goals.

wouldn't he just take ilya "crybaby" kovalchuk's place as first line wing along with hossa and either stefan or savard as Center? i'm sure he'll be in the first PP as a point guy as well.

i think he only got like 5 goals with the sens last season cause he was screwed with 3rd line mins and second line PP. he would of gotten +30 goals had he stayed with the caps.

His contract could be very bonus laden. You said $2.9 for the cup, but does he just have to get that to hit it, or is it the final push to get all of it. If he has, say 4 targets, say, .5 mill for 10+ goals, .5 mill for 10+ assists, .5 mill for 10+ games played, .5 mill for making the playoffs, and then .9 mill for the cup, his salary will easily be 2 mill a year, if not 2.5 (adding in his base salary).

Exactly, and he's Peter Bondra, an extra 1.5mil isn't exactly going to take him out of the poor house.
