supahdon 0 Report post Posted September 24, 2005 I was trying to ship out a Synergy SL today, and I went to the UPS store. After packing and weighing it, the employee tells me that it'll cost $68 to ship it ground to New York (I'm in California). That was a bit absurd to me, so I kindly made them unpack it. So basically, what shipping methods can people recommend?
tokes 0 Report post Posted September 24, 2005 You can wrap the shafts up with garbage bags and bubble wrap the blade to get some decent shipping prices
notquitedeadyet 13 Report post Posted September 24, 2005 I had a similar experience, then went to the Post office, Priority Mail was $8.70. Also, UPS didn't like my using shrink/bubble wrap to package it.Btw, mods will probably move this to another fourm.EDIT: I didn't notice you went to a UPS STORE; those places are always a rip off. whbd18 0 Report post Posted September 24, 2005 Always Ship United States Postal Service if you can. UPS is the biggest rip-off service available. USPS is cheaper, quicker, and has better service.
msander 0 Report post Posted September 24, 2005 Go USPS whenever possible. I've had so many bad experiences with UPS and FedEx I've sworn I'll never use them again unless absolutely necessary. Nothing but bad service and results from both of them.
vivaotravez12 0 Report post Posted September 24, 2005 I used to use the USPS tubes and just cut off the metal ends, and tape them together. Different price to ship each time, different clerk rang me up. If you're lucky, you could get it shipped for $5 or so...I once had a stick shipped to Colorado for $5.50 even...surprised me. I waited a day and sent it at Staples for $8 or so. USPS is the only way to go for a stick. Wrap the stick in bubble wrap and then cover it in plastic or cardboard and it will be fine. iceholes 0 Report post Posted September 26, 2005 further away..USPS is best... they are forced to put it in the air...
wristshot19 0 Report post Posted September 26, 2005 I have shipped to many different states as well as Canada and have always used USPS. The prices are cheaper than even the discount FedEx rate I get here at work. The best packaging I have found for shipping is 3M bubble wrap covered with brown packing paper. You can buy both at your local WalMart or Target and they are pretty cheap.
