Rink Rat MB 816 Pro vs. Blue Flame

Recommended Posts

For a while I thought this was the same wheel but I am wrong.

Can those who know...tell me which they believe to be a better wheel?

Also do any of the "lightweight" Rink Rats come in standard 608 bearings?

I've chunked through my Z-Rated wheels that came with my Mission 950's and recently gone back to my Rink Rat Hornets....but the weight difference is VERY noticeable.

Any help appreciated.

Thanks!

do you mean the blue flame instead of the blue max? the blue flame is the lightest wheel on the rink rat line. the performance of the two should be the same but the blue flame is just a bit lighter. and no there is no light weight wheel that uses the 608 in the rink rat line

There is a new RR wheel (mb816) that uses 688 bearings! It is the same wheel that comes stock on the new Mission 9500 skate! It looks like your typical rec wheels, but I have no idea on how it performs! Its on epuck I think, if you want to check it out?

The MB 816 looks like it was originally released as the Blue Flame last season and now with a new line out, looks to me like it is the same wheel.

Blue Flame and MB 816 are definitely not the same wheel....We have tested it for quite some time and have been very impressed with it....That is why it is on our $349 skate.

I believe there is something about the core of the MB816 that makes it unique..like there is alot of it, lol. If you look at the pic on Epuck it's like 85% hub, 15% outter wheel. I think it has something to do withe speed and rebound. Not totally sure though.

Just bought my first pair of rinkrats which just happen to be MB618, and to be honest why the hell have i waited so long, the grip and general performance of the wheel is astounding.

For me its rink rats all the way from this point on :) Just a shame they are quite expensive in the UK but all hail FEDEX :)

Been skating with the mb816's on my 8kPumps, and can honestely say they outlast & play better than the old Blue Flames.

They are also slightly stiffer, which has prevented them from chunking as easily as the blue flames, but both are great wheels. Love the color too + they look like some rims from Pimp my ride :P
