taping the entire blade

i have seen many pro's do this, where the end of the blade is taped also (round part) how do you do this cleanly without having creases and making it smooth?

you tape it like its a square toe blade then you cut of the excess tape its pretty easy maybe if i have time ill take some pics

just cut off the excess with a razor blade it will give you a very clean close cut.

Tape regular and then put strips of tape to cover the un taped toe. Just cut the excess with scissors.

When I tried it, the way I ended up liking more was covering the toe with horizontal strips first, then taping the blade.

I do it like that most of the time. I cover the toe, break off 2 small strips to cover up the ends, then tape it like normaly and it's all covered. If I have time I'll cut it off, but I usually tape at the arena.

I think Schaefer from Ottawa does it like that. If you look at his blade, you can see where he tapes a little over the toe, then does his tapejob.

I do it like the pic above, cut off the leftovers, then use wax to seal it. Works like a charm.
