Shorthanded67 0 Report post Posted November 11, 2005 A teammate of mine loves the old Hull Genesis blades. He's down to his last two blades and asked me if there's anything out there comparable to that curve now in any brand. I'm awful at analyzing blade specs (and I was in a hurry out of the rink at 12:30am). Any offerings on this?
Chadd 916 Report post Posted November 11, 2005 If it was anything like the old RTM version it was a small heel curve with some loft, square toe, don't recall the lie. Maybe a P13 or a Drury-ish curve with less loft?
wickedwrister 0 Report post Posted November 11, 2005 I still see them in stores. Usually in the "bucket-o-blades" on clearence.
mack 44 Report post Posted November 11, 2005 We have the same kinds of bargain buckets here, I'll check them out for any of them. As for any kind of current pattern that's around...I don't know, that thing was pretty flat. I'd try wood Drury-ish patterns and then heat them up and step on the backhand to flatten them out. Shorthanded67 0 Report post Posted November 11, 2005 Thank you guys for the help, I will pass that info onto my teammate. I do know that the blade was more round-ish than square. The best way I can measure blades is by comparing it next to one of mine which I know the specs for. Mack: If you find any, let me know a price and I'll see if my buddy wants them. I wouldn't touch them with a ten-foot pole...but he loves em!
mack 44 Report post Posted November 11, 2005 If they're there, they'll be like $5 a pop and I'll get what I can. The bucket usually has tons of old Louies, especially Locjaw ones.
LetsGoWings13 0 Report post Posted November 12, 2005 I didnt wanna start a new topic but what curve is similar to the titan forsberg curve. I used to love that thing when i was younger.
logan 0 Report post Posted November 12, 2005 I had an RTM Hull way back. It was a very very mild heel curve, and very gentle loft. The closest comparison I have would be to imagine the retail Tkachuk's curvature reduced by half. The shape is also similar to the Tkachuk as well. Apart from that, a retail Inno Mogilny pattern might be okay. It does have a larger paddle though, and a smidge more loft. A Kariya pro pattern blade would probably do the job if you can find one.EDIT: I am refering to the OLD Tkachuk pattern in the above post.
