Modo to Iggy?

Recommended Posts

I'm thinking about switching from a Modo to an Iggy. I wanna give a toe curve a try. I'm just wondering if anyone has tried a similar switch.

I guess I could also ask if anyone has switched from a 5 to 5.5 lie. That is very important. Probably more important to me than the actual curve I think.

i was using modo for lie 1 year and a half and switched to iggy since 1 year and a half...

and it not that hard to get used to both of them..i just prefer the iggy better...because it let me toe drag way better and stickhandling!

IMO 5 and 5.5 isnt a BIG step...

by the way, my iggy away wear at the heel...and i think i should maybe have my stick a bit higher...would this mean i need a higher lie?

Cobraa is your Iggy a mid curve, or a toe curve?

And yes, I believe too much wear at the heel means you need to bring the lie up a bit. Probably to a 6. Do you skate straight up? Typically, people that skate straight up and down need higher lies. Think Patrick Marleau or Forsberg. Something like that.

****Cavs is right. Go with lower lie. My mistake. Epuck actually has a good blade tool. I've heard alot about it, but after just checking it out, it's kinda informative.

heel wear = lower lie. The problem with the Iggy is the flat bottom on the blade. Unless 5.5 is ideal, your going to have some wear problems.

my problem isnt wear..i dont care...the problem is: i feel like when the puck is close to me...i don't feel right...but when it is about 2 feet longer it feel perfect...

also i have the impression some time that i do take too much ''heel'' when doing a slap shot...

by the way, i skate not straight but close...i'm 6'1 and when i skate too much down my back hurt soo much!

Anyways, i am steeling your post now, i would say iggy is more mid!

Thanks guys, good info. I was hoping for something with a little more toe, but at least I'll be getting a little more curve at any rate. And it doesn't sound like it will be too hard to get used to.
