r2 xn10

i bought a r2 xn10 and put a wood synthesis blade in it and it feels really blade heavy. are the graphite synthesis or graphite r2 blades any lighter than than the wood? what blades have you guys had in your r2 xn10's?

I don't like TPS blades, but I believe they are lighter than most. I use a Modo Synthesis and love the feel and balance. All PP though.

I think Chadd uses the R2XN10 with a custom wood blades. Perhaps he's better to comment.

I'm actually out of my custom blades, I only ended up with 2 or 3 out of the original dozen. I've been using comp R2 blades lately and while the feel isn't quite what I would like, at least I have a curve that works well for me. I've never had a balance problem with my R2XN10 shafts but I use a full length plug and a mid-sized knob, if you cut your stick much it would explain some of the balance issues that you're having.

i took the plug out and dont use a knob so that could very well be it. do the comp synthesis blades have better puck feel than the comp r2 blades?

LOL that question could very well start a MSH War.

It's HOTLY debated. Some people like the R2s some like Easton. I personally don't like the feel of the TPS blades. Just can't get a good feel. Someone put it as "ceramic" which a very good adjective. I like the Easton blades. Not the stiffest, not the most durable, but for some reason, I get a really good feel for the puck.

haha an argument is the last thing i want to start  . i was just curious since i have never tried the tps blades but i suppose ill just go with the easton since i used to have a black z carbon and i liked the feel of it.

I did the same thing you did, no endplug or knob, and I used a wood R2 and a comp Synthesis and comp Sicore. I agree that it felt blade heavy with the wood R2. The comp Synthesis/R2 XN10 was probably my favorite out of the 3. Balanced, decent feel, and shoots great.

sweet ill probly give that a go then, maybe ill try a drury curve for the first time. im just scared that it has too much loft and every shot of mine will be 20 feet over the net haha

I was never a big fan of the comp synth blades. I think it has the worst feel of any blade that I've tried.

Really? I didnt think it was to horrible. Are the R2 blades the ones that were on the Responses?

Same as the XN10 and R+ now.

try the bauer 7500 if your into wood feel. the durability isnt great but the blade weighs similar to the composite synthesis,r2,sv. mine felt good but got shreded pretty quick.

I dont like the Comp synthesis or R2 blades feel. I find the XV with a strip of duct-tape on the front and then your normal tape job to be the best for feel, durability, stiffness etc.

While i haven't tried the synthesis blade, i have tried several comp blades and out of all of them I really liked my R2 blade in terms of feel and performance. It's one of the lightest blades out there as well. Unfortunately durability isn't so good as mine cracked after 2 months.

No need to worry bout the puck going 20 feet over the net. The druy is by far the best curve ever you should definetly give her a go.
