Space between blade and shaft

Just tried to put my new tapered inno pro return blade into a new 1100 shaft. It fits fine but on one side and in front there's some space between the ridge of the blade and the end of the shaft. Is this normal (maybe the ridge of the blade's not perfectly even), or is something wrong here?

It's like that on my Synthesis, it's just a small defect, it shouldn't effect your shot.
