  1. That sucks big time. In my case, they smashed the window on the side of the trunk of the SUV to get at the bags, and in broad daylight on a busy street as well. I heard of people stealing hockey equipment out of the back of a pickup truck. That sucks man, but it's good that your insurance covered it. My friend had all his goalie gear stolen out of the back of his pickup. He couldn't afford to buy new ones, so he hasn't played since.
  2. Ok, rarely does one get the chance to go into a store and buy a whole new set of gear. But thanks to some thieves in Montreal (I am here visting from Toronto) who broke into my SUV and stole my and my son's hockey bag, I had the opportunity to go into Rousseau Sports north of Montreal and do just that. I would have preferred to shop around and take more time, but I had a game with a buddy the next day. Here's what I ended up with: Bag: Warrior Pro (I had a MIA custom before which was by the far the best, toughest bag I have owned. This new Warrior bag is similar, but the material may not be as thick) Helmet: RBK 6K w/ Bauer Truevision cage (like it better than my CMM Vector or Mission Intake) Gloves: Warrior Franchise Nylon 14" (also own custom MIAs and Easton Pro Stocks) Elbows: Sher-Wood Tradition (same as before, like the softer elbow) Shins: Bauer One75 15" (a little bulky but I like the strap system) Shoulders: Sher-Wood Tradition (don't like the laces, I'll miss my Itech bare bones shoulders) Pants: Bauer One95 (these are heavier than I am used to, might swap for something else) Skates: Bauer x60 (bought 7.5D, too big, store swapped them for a 7D). These will replace the Bauer XXXXs that were stolen. I also own RBK 9K Pumps which I like but they sometimes hurt my feet, as well as Graf pro stock 705s Sticks: Ironically I had taken my sticks out of my truck so as not to attract attention. My collection has shrunk considerably, but here's what I've got: - Easton SE16 Grip, Getzlaf 85 flex x2 - Easton S17 Grip, Lidstrom 85 flex - Bauer XXXLite Pro Stock Vrbata x2 - Warrior Dolomite Pro Stock Vrbata - Warrior Pro Stock Afanasenkov x6 - Easton S17(SE) Pro Stock Briere Thankfully my home insurance covered the replacement cost (less the deductible), but I'd still be just as happy to have all my old set up back.
  3. March 18 in Montreal....prodigy meets hero...I have a feeling Kovy_Ribs won't have to worry about getting tickets to the game
  4. Interview on Versus and highlights of all the goals. Great work to draw the wings away and set up his second goal...great success story.... http://www.versus.com/videoPlayer/?catID=457
  5. All around a very good stick. Lightest stick I have tried (lighter than the XN10) and very nice balance (if anything, maybe a bit too blade light). Feel and responsiveness are great too. Can't comment on durability as I haven't used it enough. I'm curious as to why more NHLers aren't using it. Mine are 100 flex which is a little stiffer than I'm used to these days, so I'd love to try it in an 85-90 flex.
  6. Latest purchase. These are custom MIAs ordered on site at the company when I was in Montreal. Took a little over 2 weeks from order to delivery. I dealt with Michel (the owner) who was incredibly patient and helpful (spent over an hour with me) - he really went out of his way to make sure I got what I wanted (even some special alterations on one of the fingers). These are 13" tufftek gloves (the blue and yellow lines are carbon), made custom with 1/4" extra long fingers and a micro-nash palm. Fit great and are ligher than anything else I have ever tried on, but I've yet to use them: Pro stock nylon CCM gloves I picked up in Montreal for C$100. Nice and light and flexible, but a little big for me at 14": Stick update: Skates (and a couple of older gloves):
  7. The AK27 is not a combo actually, it's fused like the Dolomite / 1100. It's noticably lighter than the Dolomites I have (in fact it's lighter than my XN10s), but I find the shaft vibrates a little more and has a little less pop. Remember though, these are pro sticks so they're not comparable to the retail versions. You wouldnt be willing to sell that would you? Nope - not for sale.
  8. That's a tough one, but if forced to choose I'd have to say TPS.

  10. Well, the Easton and Adrenaline Nilson curves that I have are not identical, but they're similar - big heel wedge, very open, around 5.5 lie. Great for passing and snappers (works well with the whip flex on the Adrenaline), but slapshots can be hard to keep down because of the loft. Be careful though because the Bauer curve could be completely different. I once had a XX of his and it was a pro Maltby clone (lower lie, less curve, less open). If I were you, I'd at least call the store (assuming you are buying over the net) to have them describe the curve.
  11. Stick update: 1st batch: Top to bottom in first pic: - Pro L-2 shaft (100 flex) with Ribiero L-2 blade - Brad Richards pattern Synergy (mirrored) (~100 flex) - 4x Nilson grip Synergy (~100 flex) - 2x Mission Pro Tapered M-1 shaft (100 flex) with Inno retail Kovalev blade - 2x Walker XN10 (reg flex) - 2x Vigier grip XN10 (stiff flex) - McCarty Adrenaline Grip (whip flex) - McCarty Adrenaline Control (whip flex) - Broken Martinek Dolomite shaft (240 flex) with Inno retail Kovalev blade - Inno Park 1100 (~260 flex) - Retail Rexlite XN10 (reg flex) with wood York blade - Vigier broken XN10 shaft (stiff flex) - Mission Pro Tapered shaft (100 flex) 2nd batch: Top to bottom in first pic: - Bergeron V115 (stiff flex) - Walker XN10 (reg flex) - McCarty Adrenaline Control (whip flex) - Nilson Adrenaline Grip (whip flex) - Oneill AK27 fused (260 flex) - Mike Johnson Dolomite (270 flex) - Martinek Dolomite (260 flex) You may be asking yourself....why in the world does anyone need that many sticks. You figure out the answer, please let me know I as have no idea....
  12. Try calling Perani's in London or Windsor. They had Blakes not that long ago...
  13. Erm....... lol! Thats insane! I have 2 Z bubbles and a Stealth and people on my team think thats too much!!!! Whats your fave of the bunch? Yeah, alot of people say people have alot of sticks, when they have like 3 BTW, Is that Adrenaline Nilson, the same curve as the Synergy Nilson? or close to the same curve as that Response+ beside it? That Response+ looks like a sweet stick/curve The Adrenaline Nilson is basically the same curve as the Synergies, but the blade is a little shorter and the lie a tad lower. The Adrenaline is also a whip flex whereas the Synergies are around 100 flex. The Response+ is a Pothier. Nice heel, but VERY low lie.
  14. Yeah, mine have the nine iron as well. It's actually amazing for snap shots - the puck flies off the blade - and stickhandling. Slapshots can be a crap shoot because the blade is so open. A few weeks back we were losing by a goal with a few seconds to go and I took a slapshot in desperation from our own blue line - it went over the net...
  15. What blade is that on the 1100 between the CCM and the shaft with the PM6 Kovalchuk blade? What curve? It's Richard Park, sick open curve, but very short blade and very high lie. See here: http://www.modsquadhockey.com/index.php?sh...c=15993&hl=park
