I own a pair of XV gloves. Overall I haven't had any problems with the palms, although I noticed that the color on the top of the glove has faded after only a couple of months. I probably should have gone with 13 gloves, but other than that I would say that they are solid and the adjustable cuff is nice.

i use the XV's. they are amazing gloves especially if you get them at a good price. the gloves preformance is excelent. they are light and do not restrict you in any way. they are well padded. the palms are nice. nothing extremely specail, but they have lasted quite a while and still have no holes. i dont use the adjustable cuff, i set it so its as loose as possible around my wrist. if you want to konw anything else that ive forgoten just ask.

Personally, i think the XVs are amazing gloves and would be a better bet to go with than the 5Ks. The roll in the wrist is really nice and there is almost no restriction when moving. Really nice. I don't know how many people like the adjustable cuff, but I don't mind it.

for not much more money, you should really really consider the RBK 6k glove. it's basically an 8k, in nylon and without the pittards palm. same mobility, protection and features, with that i consider to be an even better material (nylon is lighter, more durable). the only downside might be the palm, but i prefer a nash palm over the pittards, which feels really stretchy. if it's out of your price range however, the XV are much better than the 5k, since the XV has dual density foams AND a nike air insert, three peice index and a nice dri-fit liner

I was just going to suggest checking out the 6K. I haven't been anywhere near a hockey shop in almost a year, but I imagine that they are in relatively the same price range.

But like asdfa says, b/w the XV and the 5K, I'd take the XV. I'm not much for the adjustable cuff, but they're some of the most comfortable gloves I've ever tried, and the liner is money.
