New MiA Glove Pics

Recommended Posts

Here are my new MiA mb11 gloves. I got them to match all my IU stuff from college. All carbon and the tri-lam foam which is pretty cool. The middle layer of it is really solid. The palms are Microvent Digital 0.80. They were shipped to me 11 days after I ordered them but it took them a week and a half to get from Quebec to SLC which sucked. I paid $179 including shipping. The guys were great to deal with.

They're quite pretty and feel great. The palms are super soft and really tightly strung across the reinforced part. Fingers seem slightly tapered. They shouldn't need much breaking in at all. I can't wait to try them this weekend. Marian Hossa's got nothing on me!

If those are the colors you want, let me warn you that my only niggle with the gloves is that the white carbon material isn't quite white. I don't know if you can see it in the pics but it usually appears as a really light silver, an off-white, or even a tinge of champagne.....it's just not quite pure white compared to my pants, for instance. The pic with the flash makes them look white, though. Maybe they'll be more white under arena lighting and it's just the yellow of the lighting at home....I dunno. I still love them and, again, this is just a minor thing but I wanted to let you know just in case.

Somebody likes CCM skates.

A bit off topic, but what kinda chassis is that on your CCM rollers? Were they stock or something custom?

nice custom...my only downside(but not that much...) is the fact that all mia glove have a 'LINE'' in the middle of the glove...would be nice to have another design...

I first noticed the gloves on Marian Hossa, I think. Then his brother, then Bonkers, then Demitra...... (The list also includes Eaton, Savard, Pothier, Zigomanis, Hnidy, Phillips, Ulanov, Walz, and Cairns and probably a couple I haven't caught yet.) I asked James about them (43%Burnt) and he'd read about them on here so I checked out all the threads, saw Havoc's and Wotherspoon's pics, looked at their unfortunately incomplete website, and had ordered a pair by the end of the weekend. I filled out their online order form and actually added an image of exactly what I wanted and emailed it to them along with the form on a Sunday night and they called me Monday to discuss the specifics.

I had been wearing the Koho 4460s like Jagr and Lang which were totally great gloves just not too pretty and I felt behind the times brandishing the title of a now defunct company....(stupid Reebok!) I couldn't decide between Tacks or Vector gloves (not crazy about either) so I just went off the board.

They said and I believe them that they can customize gloves however you want as far as size. I didn't specify anything beyond the mb11 sizing. They are definitely a bit tighter than my 14'' Kohos or the 14'' CCMs I had before. I'd say they fit like Easton 13.5s. I no longer have that leftover cm beyond my fingers and the "roof" of the glove over the top of my hand is much more snug which is nice as the wrist then opens up plenty to still allow for plenty of movement. Fingers are a little more narrow than my old ones, too. For me, at least, they fit perfectly.

Yes, I have a thing for 1052s. And yeah, the frames are the magnesium Pro-Lite 3 Step (hi-lo) frames that came stock on the few roller-specific 1052s they sold a few years ago. I am about to build a new pair, though, with ice 1052 boots and the Red-Star Alloy frame, I think. I bought some PF 10s this summer (fabulous boots) but could not stand the 72-76-76-80 set up. Whoever was looking for those frames, email me at mikael1052@msn.com cause I might be able to help you out as I have another pair.

Yeah, Michel explained to me that the mb11s are essentially 13s and the mb22s are 14s but they don't label them specifically because they think it has limited significance as all manufacturers measure different things to size their gloves.

So correct me if im wrong, the MB22 is like a Senior glove and the MB11 is a Intermediate? There is no difference besides that?
