I've decided that as Canadians we seem to get screwed at every turn when it comes to ordering hockey gear. If I try to order the 8090s from hockeygiant, it's free shipping to the United States, but one hour north into Vancouver and shipping is now $40 USD. If I go to cyclonetaylor.com's website, they're selling the 8090s for 249 USD. I can't buy them for that price though...not even if I pay in USD, the price for Canadian customers, $350 CAD plus tax. So as a quick summary, more expensive for Canadians to order from American stores, more expensive for Canadians to order from Canadian stores. What a system.

yes, I can't understand Cyclone Taylor too. They sell the 8090 online for $249 and the local loyal customer has to pay $350 for that???????

That's ridiculous in my mind and kind of turn me down from purchasing any more skates from them in the future.

Well they say that the in store prices reflect on being able to feel and touch and be sure you're buying what you really want. That's obviously complete BS though, as I was perfectly happy to pay the online price, and have them shipped to me. It's just a stupid system.

Too bad there is not enough competition for Cyclone Taylor, even though here is a hockey town.

there are a few other stores around the greater vancouver but their pricing are even worse.

Think about it, it's not a stupid system. For in store sales, they may have to spend 30 minutes or more of labor fitting you, or explaining the features. Also, they have to heat the place, pay for lighting so you can see the product, carpet cleaning, pay for racks to display the items, to pay for advertising, and a lot more. Way more than a website pays for displaying simply a jpeg of a product.

Believe me, it's way more expenive to operate a retail store than a internet store.

Wat if i'm order from Malaysia?? can i still use the code? is it applicable on all item?

If you get the code to work, and hockeygiant accepts your credit card, you may have to have them deliver your order to a consolidator of your choice, then your consolidator will ship to you. That's how I get my stuff in. Good luck.

But if I understand the OP correctly, he doesn't want to try it on in the store, he is willing to order it online. The only difference is that he wants it shipped to Canada, not the US. They're not charging people (Canadians or Americans) who visit the store higher prices, they're charging Canadians more than Americans, whether or not they visit the store at all.
