kingjames23rulz 0 Report post Posted December 24, 2005 I was shooting at Bandit's Goaltending and Dominic Vicari was in the locker room and they were talking aboout RBK Hockey and Dom Vicari said they aren't even suppose to look at RBK stuff. I was curious, does schools have contracts with certain companies saying they can't use other companies gear? Any Info?
Irish6491 0 Report post Posted December 24, 2005 I believe Michigan State has a contract with Nike/Bauer. Most of the teams that have Nike/Bauer contracts have some stacked locker rooms full of custom colors. I know Western Michigan has custom XXX ops

trojanmgr 0 Report post Posted December 24, 2005 But not aloud to LOOK at them!!!??? Oh yeah it's true. Many colleges have contracts with specific equipment companies & can only use that company's equipment. Some schools have stick deals stating that they can only use Easton sticks, for example. Usually the equipment deals that colleges have with companies deal mainly with apparel, gloves, helmets, jersies, and maybe sticks. Everything else, like pads, skates, and possibly goalie equipment is open (sometimes even a specific company's goalie equipment is only to be used).
ItalianSpartan 0 Report post Posted December 24, 2005 Well, they've had a Nike/Bauer deal for a few years, and Dom has never used their stuff. His freshman year he used TPS X-Lite; last year he began with a full Eagle Fusion set, but hated the leg pads, and returned to the X-Lite's for the leg pads only. I can't remember what he's using now. I don't remember what freshman Jeff Lerg is using, either. His uncle is my Mission/Itech rep, and I know neither he, nor his brother and teammate Bryan, use anything from Mission/Itech. I think Jeff was using the Blockade's against Wisconsin, but my memory is hazy on it because MSU has a hard time keeping my attention this season. As for the rest of the skaters, TPS has good representation, with 3-5 guys using the Adrenaline Control. Last season, my rep had Drew Miller, Mike Lalonde, and Jimmy Slater representing the entire top line of composites for TPS. Colton Fretter has since been added to that list. I know Lerg and Corey Potter use Easton. There is a decent amount of guys using Nike/Bauer, but not as much representation as I remember Michigan having. I know that MSU uses only Bauer helmets and gloves.
kingjames23rulz 0 Report post Posted December 24, 2005 on a side note Jeff Lerg and Bryan Lerg are cousins. Their birthdays are 3 months apart and in their profiles on MSU's website it says they are cousins.
