I can't garrentee that this will work on the 130, but i have a v110 shaft that i cut down and fit a mission tapered in it. I measured it from the top (its not cut) to the spot on the bottom were i cut and it was 47 1/4 in. If you didnt cut the top the measurement may be correct

I also was able to make a very nice shaft and fit a tapered blade into it. I will take a pic of where mine is cut. Be aware you will have to scrape/file out some of the insides of the shaft to get the blade to fit. In detail there is for lack of a better word a hump on the innermost layer of the shaft. You have to file this hump away to open the shaft enough to fit a blade in. Once you do you will have one sweet shaft.

PS The shaft must be the T not the C shape for this to work

My advice - Take it back to the rink and stick it in the bin!!

i dunno... 20-30 minutes of lgiht work that would otherwise be spent doing nothing and you get a free v130 shaft? sounds like a good deal

Sorry to bump this to the top, but I have a broken V130 OPS from this weekend, and I done a search on where to cut it.

What do you mean JR that it won't work?

The inside of the shaft does not look to have any hump as described here, so I'm not sure what I should be looking for.

I cleared out the inside about 4 inches down the shaft so I should be able to put a blade in, but it still looks very narrow compared to what the other end looks like. Have I not cut it down far enough?

I can get some pics up later, but if anyone could give me some more advice on where the best place is to cut (for example, how many inches from the CCM logo at the bottom, going toward the blade should I cut) I would really appreciate it.

Cheers

I'd say just start cutting pieces about 3/4 of in inch at a time. Might be tedious, but the best way to go unless you get a quick response.

I was hoping to avoid doing that. I was just trying to see if people had cut them before, and how far toward the CCM fromthe blade they had to cut to fit a tapered shaft. Then I could cut there, and fit an end plug if need be.

I have a 130 ops that I converted to a 2 piece. I tried cutting it down but as JR mentioned, because of the construction of the stick (Check out 0:55 of the clip - How it's Made, the point where the blade fuses with shaft http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G-ueMOMW6mw), it doesn't work. As you can see in the clip, the shaft is very narrow with a V shape.

I cut quite a bit and then just ended up flipping the shaft over and inserting a tapered blade to it.

mine is the C shaft, why would it not work?
