nike apollo OPS 87

Recommended Posts

I have three Apollos right now and they should all last me a long time. I use an 87 flex with the PT3 (Legwand) blade. I would have bought more but I can't find them any longer. I bought my last two from HockeyGiant.com as they were the only ones I could find that had them. They don't have any more 87, PT3, lefties in stock so I guess these will be my last ones.

The sticks have great feel and seem to flex at the right spot. You shouldn't be disappointed.

Also i hear the shaft is a tank but some people don't like the colour scheme and/or the weight of the stick. Personally I love those colours and I don't think it's heavy at all but thats once again PP

I'm with jbyun04 on this. I dig the colors and the stick itself. I bought a Brind'Amour (did I spell this right?). The only thing I didn't like was the curve. I should've bought PT89's from East West hockey, but they ran out of stock right when I was getting ready to put in an order. Anybody have any brand new PT89's that they would like to get rid of?

I bought an Apollo as my 2nd one piece stick. It was by far my favourite. It lasted me a season and a half. My shots just flew off of it, and it was the first time i thought i had a "decent" slapshot. I highly recomend it, mine broke right in the middle, soif i needed to i could get it fixed, the blade is still in great shape though! Get one , you wont regret it

Love my Nike Apollo shaft and stick. The stick has good feel, shoots well and I like the PT3 curve. I'm using a 102 flex shaft with a TPS Nash blade and an 102 flex Apollo one piece with the Legwand PT3 curve RH. I notice a bit more zip on shots with the one piece compared to the shaft/blade combo, but like both. I usually alternate between the Apollo OPS and the Salming G1 I have. I use the shaft mainly for rollerhockey.

I've had the shaft for over a year and have used the Apollo one piece since September and both are holding up great. I'm happy with both purchases.

The Apollo is a great stick, I had one that I got with the V12 skates, and I remember that my shot had a little bit of extra zip compared to a synergy, I just bought a couple more to have as backups when my other sticks break.

roacher, what does the bauer/nike P89 compare to?

The pic that I was sent was that of a straight blade with a slightly open toe curve. I have a pic but don't have a clue as to how to post it up on a website.

just picked up the last one of the pt3 87 lefty pro model...can't wait!

Curse you! They weren't an option a couple weeks ago. If I would have known they were available again I would have bought more. If I could get them locally I would but nobody can get them any longer. May have to look in Chicago or Indianapolis the next time I am up there.

They still have the non-prostock version in the PT3 lefty, but its a 102 flex....if you're interested.

they still have the PT3 87 left, it's just under "Legwand" as that was the player pattern for that year. Just checked now, there's 19 left... dunno why they have an additional listing of PT3 on the bottom thuogh...

Nice find. I was looking in the Pro Stock under PT3 as they never had the Legwand description before. There weren't many choices under the regular Apollos for quite some time. I wonder when they added more. thanks for relaying the information!
