Quickness exercises

What exercises can I do to improve my overall skating quickness and speed? Off ice. Like what plyos will be good? How long until i should see an improvement and how often should I do these exercises? If I start now will I notice an improvement within 4 weeks?

For lateral jukes and agility, try lateral sprints on a field or somewhere grassy in case you fall, also try to build up your hip and calf muscles in the gym, specifically the soleus (outer calf). Try wider stance squats and seated calf raises.
