Hespeler 9009

Recommended Posts

I was walking in the mall so I decided to check out the shafts and I see this shaft, the Hespeler 9009 for 39.99 Candian. The flexs come in 260 and 220. I was thinking about getting the 260 since it is equivalent to the Easton 90. I tried looking up this shaft on the internet and I find nothing, some say this is graphite/fiberglass and some say its a kevlar weave, so what is it? Its fairly light and I like the shape its a lot less boxy then the Yzerman shaft. So for 39.99 Cdn is this a good deal? Its 48 inches so I will cut it down a bit, Which will proablly make it feel like 100-110 stiffness. So is this shaft any good and is it worth it?

I loved the shafts, they're essentially an Inno 2000 if I remember correctly. They were slightly heavier than the old Easton Ultralight, but I got rid of my ultralights and used 9009s for a couple of years. Great sticks for that price. They were a lot more expensive when they were released.

I also came across one a while ago for 29.99 canadian. I was using 110 u/l's at the time and I got the 220. It was a little whippier, but I actually didn't mind it. I used it for practices and when I switched to grip tapered shafts, I gave it to my dad.

I remember they were 110.00 Candain during Christmas, I think they are trying to ditch all there shaft cuz they only have 2 types of shafts. Hey Chadd the description says that the kick point is 12 inches above blade, does this mean it acutally has a designated kick point? cuz I own the Yzerman shaft and I am not sure if it has a kick point built into it.

One more thing, did you pick this over the UL becuase of the 9009's performance or for some other reason? Is this shaft comparable to the Easton high end stuff maybe even the UL?

Thanks

At the time the 9009 may have weighed a bit more but the shaft shape fit my hand better and the performance seemed at least equal to the UL. As for the kickpoint, I never noticed anything special with it.

Your results may vary.
