End Plug

Recommended Posts

I am using a vapor xxx lite and it has one of those little black end plugs in it which popped out during one of my games. A player on the other team saw it laying on the ice and didnt realize what it was and flicked off the ice so no one would step on it and I never found it again. Another player on my team said something about how i should put a new one in there as soon as i can but never said why, why does the end plug need to be in there what difference does it make?

Just put a piece of tape over it. No biggie.

Phillipsa - We have that same rule around here, but the refs never enforce it, and havent seen it called in years.

Say I was going to put another end plug in it though all the replacement ones i can find on the interenet are wooden and would add a few inches on to my stick which i really dont want to do. Do you know of anywhere i could buy a little black one that just covers up the hole like the one it came with.

Just put a wood one in and cut it flush...

I'm having a similar issue once again but this time I'm too lazy to bother with cutting anything so I just wanna put some tape over it but I have a question. Besides the fact that its a rule to have one in is there really any reason to have one will your stick feel different or break any quicker or does it not really do anything?

the plastic cap is only there because manufacturers stopped supplying wooden plugs with sticks, and it's supposedly dangerous to have an open endto a shaft. just tape and play, and have no worries.

I just tape over it. Come to think of it, I remember seeing players with almost uncovered ends in the Van-Col game on Saturday. The edges were covered with tape, but the hole was still quite visible.
