does it matter what style of game i play? well if it does im about 5ft 10 in. im a hybrid style but uses the butterfly more then standup style and like to play the puck alot

I have always loved Sherwood 7000 sticks but I also suggest www.ballistik.com

they make great custom sticks cheap

Try ballistik or christian for custom sticks and I'd recommend a CCM H6 for a cheap yet durable stick that you can find pretty easily. I'm planning on ordering a few sticks from don simmons(a ccm, a RBK and a montreal) just to try them out since they are relatively cheap.

They must have improved on the old ones, they were crap. I was a player rep for them a loooong time ago. When the shafts were $20 they were a good deal, not so much anymore.

I've always been dedicated to the Sher Wood 9950, might be a little a heavier, but never had a problem with durability.

I did just pick up a TPS Exceed, besides the paddle being a bit too short it had great feel.

I have used a couple of the 7000 goal sticks and they have been some of the best goal sticks I have used. However I am brutal to my sticks so I can never get a true feel for how long they last. Right now I am in a Sherwood SOP 7000 and an SOP 9950 and a Montreal 9000 Esche.

I love the montreal but I had to cut the shaft and I hate having to cut goalie shafts but I needed it shorter because I am a very active puckhandler.

it seemed as light as normal wood goalie stick, it wasnt real heavy and form using the bauer xxx's and tryin the rbk's it wasnt a big deal if the weight,i mean it weighed more because of the difference in materal used to vreate the stick but it was light for a ol' fashion woodie

Yeah for the difference in weight, I can not see spending $200 for the composites when I use 3-4 per season and the RBK 6/CCM-H10 is fairly light and work great for me.

Ive got some Pro-stock G-12's coming for me in the next couple weeks direct from an NHL locker room for nothing but compensating for time and shipping  Maybe I will be altering my view of composite goal sticks

sher-wood.. ccm won't last

<_< I went through 3 Sherwoods in a matter of one month...with my CCMs, its maybe 2-3 per season. They have done me quite well and better than any other goal stick Ive used (which has been most every top-level stick other than composites).

Mike, something interesting I thought I would throw out at you. I had the chance to play with a RBK 6K instead of my CCM H-10 and found it substantially heavier than the CCM. Im not quite sure what the deal is since I was under the impression that they were similar sticks. Not sure about the durability comparison (a guy stepped on the blade and snapped it after 30 minutes). Just thought I would give you a little insight since you said you had ordered some RBKs.

really? i go through about 6 sherwoods a season. i bought a ccm and broke it in two practises. it was a belfour, sick curve.

Do you remember which model you bought? The H10 seems to always hold up great for me, but I have run across the occasional lemon that doesn't last more than a few weeks...

I also have the Vapor XXX stick, i broke 2 and have 2 cracked at the blade, overal i have 5 Vapor XXXs, i love them, but they just cant hold up... weight is incredibly light, great for stick handling, rebound control, and i have the blue one and the red one, now hardly ne1 has the blue Vapor XXX, its the tampabay khabibulian model, but then he was traded to chicago
