rollerhockeymavin 0 Report post Posted February 21, 2006 just bought the ccm pf10's skates and love them-comfy, stiff boot, fairly light weight compared to my old ccm's, hardly amy break in time. The only thing I am questioning is the bearing(mini bearing abec 7's).. Would you switch them out for regular bearing and regular hub wheels or just upgrade to titanium or swiss bones mini bearing. the blue flames seem pretty good-grip, rebound, weight, etc. any feedback would be appreciated... JSchultz 25 Report post Posted February 21, 2006 I don't mind mini bearings. I've had them in wicked lites, and I have them in my 9500's.Just stick with them.
DaveTheWave 0 Report post Posted February 21, 2006 Regular size have a longer life, but mini bearings are lighter. It depends on what advantage you want, but they spin the same.
notorious#29 0 Report post Posted February 21, 2006 You've already got some good wheels, no reason to swap them out yet. If you're not happy with the ABEC 7's, swap them out for some mini Swiss. Just my two cents.

sdcopp 1 Report post Posted February 21, 2006 I can attest firsthand from owning PF10's that the stock bearings are trash. Get some quality minis and call it a day
#96 0 Report post Posted February 21, 2006 The Mini Abec 7s I had in my Mission VSI Carbons from 99 are still spinning amazingly well. Another set I got a little bit after that are just as nice. FYI, they are BSBs. It's all about how you care for them. Keep em dry, keep em in a nice container or something, don't let dust or dirt get in there too bad, and you'll be fine with either Mini or regular.

DaveTheWave 0 Report post Posted February 21, 2006 BSB's are good bearings. If you want the top of the line performance and can spend the extra cash, go with BSB micro swiss. They are almost identical to the bearings that come on the new Missions.
shute 4 Report post Posted February 21, 2006 i have the PF10 myself and i can tell you the bearings are crap... your better off just spending the extra money for some good bearings.

sdcopp 1 Report post Posted February 22, 2006 Why Mini's? weight mostly. I think there was some pseudo-scientific reason why they were better beyond the weight, but the weight is mostly it.
Thockey17 1 Report post Posted February 22, 2006 weight mostly. I think there was some pseudo-scientific reason why they were better beyond the weight, but the weight is mostly it. What you save weight-wise by switching to mini's is barely anything at all. Not to mention that the wheel has to have either more plastic or rubber to meet the size you want. sdcopp 1 Report post Posted February 22, 2006 I'm not endorsing them as I stick to standard size, but that's the logic. Same reason people like Stealth's so much over a slightly heavier but significantly less expensive stick
