Nike SQ Driver

Recommended Posts

Well im heading to the Dominican next week, and will be playing a few rounds of golf. I have the opportunity to take out a demo of the new Nike SQ driver. Just wondering if anybody had the chance to use it, or somebody who owns one, if anybody could give me some pros and cons about it? Thanks.

Thats funny because in the Golf Digest magazine it says even if you hit it off the heel or toe its very foregiving. But im not a beginner. I shoot low 80s and sometimes into the high 70s.

Last year i also took out a demo R5 and i hit it straight and LONG. Im actually using the Ping G5 9.5 degree now and finally figured it out at the end of the season last year ;)

Ive heard its not for the beginner, very unforgiving,

I was recommended the Tayor Made R5, or a new Ben Hogan model driver.

Ive always been an Adams fan myself

Are these supposed to be good beginner drivers? I am looking into the King Cobra SZ 440 right now because I've heard it's very forgiving especially on slices, but I am also interested in the R7 & R5

I have an Adams 363cc, and a Deep Red Fat Shaft, I found both were very easy to hit and marginally forgiving. Th ehogan and R5 were recommended to me as firgiving beginner clubs

The SQ is the largest soled driver on the market today and is the most forgiving. It is meant to hit the ball high with the shallow face so for a beginner this would be an excellent club, along with the lofts, anywhere from 7.5-16 degrees there will be an SQ that works for you.

Look at either BombSquadGolf or GolfWRX for more info.

hey if ur confident in your iron game and can hit it far with a 2 or 3 iron off the tee why pick up a driver i just launch em off the tee with the high irons and i can still get on a par 5 in 3 so whatever, not trying to dropp 400 bucks on a driver

Because most of us hockey golfers usually cant hit a 2-3 iron 285 or further. You'd be better off IMO hitting a driver then be able to use a long iron or 3 wod depending on the hole may be better.

imo i would get an ignite over a sq because the sq is so huge looking. There are better drivers out there than the sq. R5's are very good choices and can be had off of ebay for a good price these days. Cobra drivers are very nice too. I would stay away from callaway because they are way overpriced.

That thing is massive. Try to get a used taylormade or something. Unless your filthy rich I dont see the point in buying new when you can get percectly fine clubs used. I like my taylormade r510, not nearly as big as the sq, ignite, r7, r5 ect. But I hit it pretty long and straight most of the time so Im fine with it.

also an r580 xd is a solid driver. If your made of money and hit a high ball, go for an r510 tp. 510 tp's are a sick driver, but are very expensive.
