I use the hyper one and I love it! the mission one looks more protective though. Its

really light, I hate wearing shoulder pads too and ii hardly notice this.

the 2006 Thorax is $35 on epuck.

I have one and have used it for both ice and inline games. It isn't a lot of additional padding. It's actually a mesh shirt with some thin foam sown into it. I haven't taken any pucks in the stomach or chest in them to date. I have thrown some hits and have gotten hit with it on and it feels like it looks - a shirt with thin foam padding sown into it. It isn't a bad buy for $35, but in the end, it's still personal preference whether you enjoy using it or not.

i find if you get a big hit, it hurts. I just use this to take away from the hookin/little hits/puck that happens it games. just takes the sting out of the shot or whatever.

I'm thinking about buying the Thorax for inlinehockey.

But I'm only intrested in the Spinal Protection. Is it possible to remove the padding from the chest and arms? (ala removing padding from the D1 girdle)

i guess it would be possible but you would have to cut it out/unstitch the bits where the foam is sewn in. to be honest... it makes hardly any difference, it wont feel bulkier or hotter with the padding. id just leave it in.

Its not amazing, its pretty much just some foam, some bits have plastic inserts in them too. the thorax is the most protective of the shirt shoulder pads.

I used the hyper one and i play full contact roller and usually ice with it and ive had no problem. but it wont be as protective as traditional shoulder pads.

The 2006 European Championships for Juniors were supposed to be in Denmark in September this year. Now, the IISHF website implies the Junior EC will also be played in Lugano (Switzerland) before the Senior EC (which was already scheduled to be in Lugano). Their website is offline right now, but I'm sure I read that.

oh man on the tarmac outside rinks or lugano??

had a tourny out there years ago, they had three outdoor rinks right by the lake - hockey in the day, out on the pedalo's at night :D was awesome

they close the roads off to cars at night, all the women come out and you can just whip your skates on and go blasting round the roads - i remember we had this game of tag across the entire town!

anyways, it will be awesome in lugano if they hold it there, not the best surface haha loose tarmac isnt the easiest surface to play on, take old skates!! but u'l hav so much fun!!
