Blade question

Ok, I just go a new TPS ptc blade and as I look at it, the back is nice and smooth and glossy, but on the front, the toeish area is glossy, but there seems to be not much gloss at all on the heel area and it feels "rough". Should I spray the front with some extra gloss? Will this help the durability or not? If its doesnt than im not gonna worry about it

so the heel on the forehand feels like the original silver synergy's?

but why spray gloss on it? just for the look?
