what the part of the blade the has the innovative written on it called? its the tenon right? what the smallest one in a standard one and how does it compare to a say synthesis blade in length. i searched and would like to get more info.

also, i read that u can wedge wood in if a blade is too small rather than adding tape. will this damage/crack the hosel?

I would say wedging wood in there rather than taping the hosel would be bass-ackward. Tell the MacGuyver that told you that to get a clue.

The tenon is the part that goes inside the shaft. The hosel is the part that goes from there to the blade.

im trying to figure out of the stick im gettin is the right size for me. im thinkin of gettin the custom hull shaft from alden and its 48" long and it accepts standard blades. i currently use a l-2 that is 57" when i rest it on the tip of the toe to measure it up to me. will this be too big or is it a little lenght i could get used to

Standard blade hosels are longer than the Synthesis hosels by 2.75". I'm guessing the short hosel standard Innos are about 1" shorter than the industry standard blades, but I can't confirm the exact number.

I made the wood shims suggestion in another thread. I personally wouldn't put a tapered blade in a standard shaft. Someone wanted to know how it could be done, but I also said it's not worth the bother.

If you can find a berehowsky anywhere, it has almost no hosel at all, but it's a standard blade.

so will the combo be too big or around the same size as my l-2?

Do the math. Go grab one of your standard tenon easton blades and measure it out. Subtract 2" from the measurement and you'll get the length for the innos. Add that to the 48" that you'll be getting with the hull shaft and see how close it comes to 57".

Hey, I have the Berehowsky blade in that Inno I'm selling you. I just measured it standing up and it's 63". The Berehowsky has the shortest hosel I've seen in a standard blade but is still about an inch longer than the Synthesis.
