garters with velcro..do you cut sock?

I am looking to get a new jock, and i like the compression short type. I see that several kinds [wsi specifically] have velcro on front and back. Are you suposed to cut a slit in the sock and loop the velcro through it and attatch to the velcro on the other side? or do you seew velcro into the sock?? Just kinda confused becasue i have never seen socks woth slits like it looks like you would need? Thanks for the knowledge.

the velcro should just grip the sock without the need to cut any holes or sew on complementary velcro patches. think of when u snag your shirts and stuff on the velcro patches on ur jacket.

Ya, just got one of those jocks this year. There is no need to cut holes in your socks, the one side of velco works fine.

I just wrap tape over the sock at the velcro one time on each leg and it's never come off in a game.

I just use garters. The velcro usually doesn't last that long for me, so I go with a jock(usually with a compression short, minus the velcro underneath) and garters.

Buddy of mine who had the velcro garters would cut off the bottom flap of velcro and sew it onto his socks. Begs the question "what if you want to wear a different pair of socks?", but he seemed to like it that way.
