quick Visor question

Recommended Posts

I'm looking around to replace my cheapo Itech RBEI shield and I was looking at the Oakley Pro Straight Small or even the regular pro straigh cut, but I found the Itech HS22 Pro Straight for about $15 less than the Oakley and I was wondering if the Oakley is worth the extra money, or if they are pretty much equal quality visors, I'll just go with the Itech. Also, how is the Itech Pro Wave because I've seen that for about $10 less than the Oakley's? Thanls.

If you have a big nose like me, the Itech may not fit well. I have used the HS22 (refular and wave) and the Oakley straight small and there is no difference in vision quality. I like the fact that the Itechs come with spacers to fit your helmet better.

thanks Chadd!.. I will go with the Itech since it seems a bit cheaper.. do you have any advice on what to clean it with? I know oakley has the AFR which seems to work well with that, but I was wondering what people with Itechs use.. thanks again!

You can use the oakley stuff on the Itech if you already have it. I only wiped off the itech and never had a problem with it. Some people use dish detergent on it before they use it to prevent fogging. I rarely have problems with any of the optically correct models.

I've never had any luck with the Sprays. So, I basically use shampoo on it right before a game. Works great, and doesn't fog. Just make sure you use a soft cloth to apply / wipe off.

Plus it's cheap. I usually take my Hotel shampoo's home with me, so I have a collection to use. :D

I use the shampoo method as well on my rbei, sometimes it doesn't work though, especially when I'm sitting on the bench, I tend to prop my helmet up on my forehead a bit and then it really fogs up so I keep a towel at the bench to wipe off before my next shift if need be.

I have a big ass nose, and the Itech Pro Wave is a match made in heaven for it! ;)

Use a Window Cleaner Spray, works like a charm with a soft cloth. Better than all the anti-fog solutions I've bought from Epuck & LHS' over time. B)

if i am not mistaken, some window cleaners can damage/strip/remove the antifog cloating...

you should be using mild detergent...
