gavin 0 Report post Posted April 6, 2006 I'm one of those stupid people that always wants to scrimmage. I guess I should realize that not everyone is like that but maybe it's my Canadianess... at least in Canada everyone jumps at the opportunity to "sticks in the middle!"AHHH nothing better than 4+ hours of shinny :)

hockeyherb 1 Report post Posted April 6, 2006 After about 15 minutes this guy with no equipment except skates, gloves and a stick exclaimed "It's time to play." I went over and told him no way, he could scrimmage half ice if he wanted but the other half was for people who just wanted to practice. He told me "I run this, we're doing what I say"... That's when you could have said, "ok sure, let's play" then made sure you took a shot at his shins every time he was in front of you. See how long he wants to scrimmage then!I'm just kidding though, you did the right thing just going about your business. Do they have scheduled drop in scrimmage times there? THAT'S where people shoud expect to scrimmage and not work on drills.
jjtt99 0 Report post Posted April 6, 2006 Stick and puck is usually an adventure. Sometimes you get guys who want to turn it into a scrimmage, uh, that's what drop-in hockey is for. Other times you get guys standing at the centre line unloading slappers. Then you get the kids that sneak in and all of a sudden there's like 50 people on the ice. Regardless of what scenario happens it certainly helps to remind you the importance of keeping your head up!

Yeah, there are two nights for scrimmaging and we now have this one night of stick & puck, so it works. There are no leagues at this rink
