Mission S500 Pitch Holder Issue

Recommended Posts

On one of my S500's, when I put my weight on the toe, there is a scrunching/creaking sound as if something is loose. It looks like the holder as the steel is locked down properly and doesn't move when I re-enact the problem by sandwiching the skate toe and holder with my hands.

Does this sound like something that can be fixed in an LHS? I'm in the Boston area so any recommendations (besides Pure Hockey) would be appreciated.

I've had work done by guys at TSR, Zwickers, No Icing and the guys at the Chelmsford Forum. I've also heard good things about Andover Hockey Shop and Dynamik Sports but I haven't personally used them.

Could be SHINKAGE! My son's skates were tight when they were at room temp, but when he got off the ice, they would click. A few minutes later, they made no sound again. The blade and the holder react differently to the cold of the ice. I tightened the blades a little, and the clicking went away.

The rivets are coming slightly loose from the sole. All the shop needs to do is put a little pressure on the rivets and they will be fine.
