Old Mission Flyweight Shaft compared to L2 ?

Recommended Posts

Anyone know if the shape of the L2 shaft is rounded (ala Biomorphic dangler/Metamorph flyweight) or square? Is there a choice?

Thanks!

I'm hoping just as hard as you JR but I highly doubt they'll ever bring the meta shape back. The market for a senior shaft that small just isn't there. You want to let me in on your little hook up you have there for those extra metas? :D

they are all green, on the pics they look black, which looks sweet. I was under the impression it was black until i received mine in the mail.

JR I remember seeing your weights when it was posted on that old board. The flyweight was extremely light. I own 2 Fly's, one with an R2, the other with a shaved down Koho hybrid and both are equal in weight to my Xn10. My 10-7 with R2 comp is my main stick.

last question til I go ahead and purchase one, how would you compare the shaft size with that of a synergy in terms of handle shape and diameter ?? Less or more rounded ??

Hey Kobe... i just called Mission hockey and they said they have 10 10*7 and 5 8*5 Mission Flyweight Shafts on return back to the factory. I am going to call them next week and see if I could maybe pick some up. Just thought you might be interested.

A LHS just got some L-2s in yesterday. I played around with an 85 flex Elias pattern for a bit in the store with a Smart Hockey ball. The balance seemed comparable to my Synthesis w/Comp. Synth. blade as is the flex, as much as I could tell in the store. I had no problems stickhandling with the L-2 and I'm the first to complain about blade-heavy sticks. I wasn't big on the Elias pattern since it looked like a slightly lower lie Modano or very close to it. Did they rename the Gaborik? Anyways, $249.99 CDN for the combo here, but I think I'll wait till the bare shafts come in.
