Ours weren't much better. In fairness, almost everyone had Buff, NYR, and Carolina out of the playoffs.

I had four right, those being Anaheim, Edmonton, Ottawa and Montreal. Also, I had eleven out of the sixteen actual playoff teams and only missed Dallas in the West.

I totally discounted Buffalo and gave the Bruins too much credit.

How could anyone have predicted Carolina to be good this year. They were one of the worst teams last year and didn't really add that many people in the off year. By all means, they should have been a mediocre team at best. They have to be one of the best stories in the NHL this year.

Does that make Vancouver one of the worst stories of the year? They really failed to live up to their billing.

Agreed, the Canucks did the least with the most. Blueline injuries destroyed the team in 06. Losing to some weaker Western teams was giving away points. Bert never got his stuff together. Remember the hat trick vs Detroit? That was the game he peaked in! Ruutu nonsense was an Avery-like distraction, too.

I had Colorado, Anaheim, Edmonton and Ottawa in their exact spots. I had 7 of the 8 teams in the West (I picked Vancouver and not Dallas to make it). In the East I had 5 teams in the playoffs out of the 8. So I guess I did ok.

EDIT: Like almost everyone, I picked Carolina, Buffalo and the Rangers not to make the playoffs.
