First impressions

Recommended Posts

So I got to play with my new stick and skates tonight and thought it would be a good idea to share.

Pulse - Rafalski, 100 Flex - I was really impressed with this stick. I have always used Eastons but, this stick can compete. The feel of the puck was excellent. Actually the closest to a woodie that I have ever used. When accepting a pass you get very little vibration. Just a nice feel to it all around. The stick is a little heavier at the blade than my Stealth so that was a plus in my book. The 100 flex was a little stiffer than an Easton 100 so it took a little getting used to. Especially when passing. Shots came off very nice. First shift I was out with it, I got a goal so that might have something to do with me liking it so much too.

Fuel 110 XP - This skate is very light and pretty stiff which is good. They do have a nice feel on as well. After they were baked, they had a perfect feel. Very secure in the heel and ankle especially. I took 2 shots off of them, 1 to the toe and 1 to the side more, and felt fine. Coming from Synergy's and Bauers, I felt a little to far leaned back and could not adjust to the feel of being back on my heels so much. I kept feeling like i was going to fall backwards and couldn't get a good stride or transition. The plus here is, when I got home, I adjusted the steel to lean me forward more so I will definately add to this on Saturday evening. Don't get me wrong these are very nice skates. They are just not for me as of yet. I will probably sell them after I get my Synergy's back. Plus I don't like how they look.

What other OPS's have you tried in comparison other than the Stealth? It'd be interesting to compare the Pulse to the TPS Adrenaline since they both are going for some sort of vibration dampening.

My last few sticks have been, SL, Si-Core, stealth, Response Plus. I will be playing again on saturday with my brother who has an Adrenaline so I will compare them then.

I got to play with an Adrenaline today. The Pulse did a little better job with the vibrations in my opinion and felt a little better balanced. I am really impressed with the weight of the blade on the Mission stick.

Well I adjusted the pitch of the skates up and they were a little better although I still do not feel comfortable in them. I have at least 3-5 more games in them so hopefully they will keep getting better.
