Mission Pure Fly Conversion

Recommended Posts

I have a pair of Mission Pure Fly's that are being retired from ice as I expect to get a new pair of Fuel's shortly. My first question is, are the Pure Fly's a solid boot for Roller?

Second, if the scenario above sounds like a good idea, I was going to buy the violater frames I saw on HockeyGiant for 5.00 a piece. I have a pair of Bauer's with the rocker chassis but I hate the boots. Could the rocker chassis work on Pure Fly's?

I'm only going to skate around with the kids, no serious roller hockey.

JR is mounting the Tuuk rocker chassis to my old Pure Lights tonight. I don't play in any roller leagues; just planning on using them for pick-up so I'm sure they will be fine. Seems he liked the idea too…had me pick up an extra chassis for him as well.

Hopefully its not raining tomorrow, I can't wait to see how they feel.

Thanks Hobbes. That makes me feel like it's not a bad idea. What's the charge for taking the chassis off of one and putting it on another boot?

the purefly boot should work just fine.. i've seen a few pics of people who have done it. most comfy boot i've ever used but it was a bit soft when it came to protection from pucks.

I have seen a few people with chassis mounted on pure flys...mostly hi-lo frames but Im sure the rockers will be sweet, everyone Ive known thats had them mounted has had no problems with them...I think its really all persoanl prefrences Ive had a few pairs of ice boots mounted and loved each set up I had...Most ice and inline boots are made a bit diffrently per the diffrent demands put on the skates by diffrent surfaces...But all in all the should hold up just fine for a while, depending of course if your boots are already going on their last leg from ice use...The key really is the mounting of the frame, that makes all the diffrence in the world, but if a pro like JR is doing it you have nothing to worry about...Good luck and post some pics of them up if you can....

I have a question, what size skates would the large chassis fit on?

I have the sensor frame on the purefly and I absolutely love it. By far the best and most comfortable skate I have ever had.

I have the D-Limited inline's and from what I have seen the boot is almost exactly like the old Pure Fly's. I love the boot on the Limited, definitely the nicest skate I have owned.

I've been skating on s500's converted to inline's forever and they work great. I have also seen many people on purefly converted set ups, so I'm sure you'll be fine.
