Bauer SBDII Shoulder pads

Recommended Posts

Does anyone know of a site other than hockeygiant that carries these? I tried searching but couldn't find anything. Hockeygiant wants $45 just to ship to me so I'm hoping there might be another site that has cheaper shipping.

Thanks

I have those, they are pretty large, I think because they are not constrictive at all, very agile in these things and lots of room for adjustment. I would say they fit bigger than a large set of bauer flak that I used to have, I'm actually a bit small for them and made the laces and straps pretty tight (not too tight, but comfortable). I have a 40" chest (when I flex haha) but really wide broad shoulders and these would definetly fit a much larger person than myself.

shoulder caps are nice and protective along with the arm protector which hangs pretty low and is not adjustable, I just keep it real loose and it overlaps my bicep protector of my elbows but thats fine and doesn't get in the way. its beefed up around the coller, its just the front of the chest and the back are pretty thin, there is a little flap of extra protection behind the lace-up in the front to help protect the clavicle but no spine protector. as far as lace-up, I'm sure they are more protective than the 5030's, at least in the shoulder caps.

Since I can only find these in a large, I wear a Mediun in Jofa's. Would I be able to adjust these to fit me well or should I just try to find a different pair?

depends how wide your shoulders are I suppose. I wear a medium in easton, but my shoulders are kind of wide, which is why I started out with a large in bauer years ago.. I got these in the large and they are fine. the arm pads are kind of long but you can always cut the straps and re-sew them on if it bothers you. but if you are perfectly a medium, these might be a tad big. I don't think its the chest size that will be the problem moreso than the width from end to end since these are lace-up.. although I don't think its worth it to pay $45 for shipping from hockeygiant.. especially if they won't fit perfectly.
