Really, Really stupid question

Recommended Posts

I have been reading the threads on the new numbering system for the CCM skates. I went to the web site to see if I could figure it out. Man now I am confused. It appears that the "tacks" line is an offshoot of the original leather boot manufacturers name. But what do the current models have in common with each other and what are the advantages of each. Which section is considered the high end of the CCM line? Is one line mostly leather while the other is mostly nylon and plastic? Once again, I thought I had it figured out until I started looking closer at it.

The 992 is in the super tacks line right? So Pro tacks are even better?

EDIT: Never mind, I think I answered my own question on the web site. So for their inline stuff, they only go as high as the Vector series right?

yeah, the pro model is top of the line followed by the highest numers to the lowest. Example: 92 < 692 < 992 < pro

But just a tip, hockeymonkey and hockeygiant(as well as other online retailers) have older models for a LOT cheaper than the newer skates. I just bought a pair of 952 super tacks for $120 from hockeymonkey.

Oh and here's the features of the new pro tacks:

F-I-T-SYSTEM: CCM F-I-T-SYSTEM combines heat and pressure for a "gapless" customized fit

Lateral Support: Perforated pro carbon anatomical ankle support delivers long lasting support pro players demand

Ankle Pads: Pro comfort plus foams immediately form to the ankles eliminating break-in

Tongue: COMFORT FLEX tongue features lightweight high-density molded foam "saddle" lace-bite guard combined with foam-felt tongue that covers full length of foot for lightweight comfort and protection

Quarter Package: PRO ARMOUR I improves protection by over 50%, maximizing durability while minimizing breakdown

Vamping: WEARFORCE maximizes abrasion and cut resistance

Trims: MICROTEX mat leather grain trims maximize abrasion resistance and durability

Footbed: COMFORT CONTROL footbed features a "fleece" top cloth that feels like a slipper on your foot and moisture management perforations

Outsole: Low profile overmolded ultimate composite perforated outsole minimizes mass, maximizes energy transfer and delivers on durability

Holder: CCM E-BLADE PRO blade holder maximizes energy transfer and features replaceable runner attachment

Runner: New PROformance Lite Stainless features new mass reducing scallops, which increase the longitudinal and torsional stiffness by 15%

Not that I am at all even considering this, but how would the Pro Tacks boot work as an inline? How much better are they than say the Vector PF10?

EDIT: Answered my own quesstion with the search button. Thanks
