9k vs Vector 10

Recommended Posts

Please guys! :) I need to make up my mind between 9k skates or Vector 10. I both tried them on and loved the fit. Which would you choose if you were in my shoes?

Thank you.

go with Easton or Mission

That's not helpful at all. If he likes the fit of the skates then they should work great for him.

Is the pump feature that important to you? If you're willing to try something new then you should consider the 10.0, but the 9k pumps you can get some feedback from others on. If I'm not mistaken, even though the difference isn't much, the 10.0 is lighter than the 9k. The liners are different, and so are the ankle padding(10.0 has really thick ankle pads, and the 9k of course has the pump which goes from pretty thin to really fat) You mentioned you liked the fit which is the most important thing, so either skate you should be pretty happy with.

9ks are wider than the vector how can they both fit good?

I would go with the vectors cause the 9ks are just too stiff.

7ks would also be a gd choice

Well I feel a little better in the 9k's since I have wide feet, but I'm afraid the boots would be to stiff.

I don't think you can go wrong either way. If your worried about the 9K being too stiff and you really don't play at a high level then go with the Vector 10. As previouly stated you have to figure out if the pump feature is important to you. Otherwise your essentially looking at two skates with similar features. Fit isn't really a concern since their both made by THC. ;)

I play recreational only. For me the pump feature is intresting but I could live without it.

i was in the same boat u were in, i had to decide between the 10.0 and the 9k, i chose the 9k and love them, great skates, i actully dont even find the that stiff IMO, i had the vector pros before the 9k and they were great skates, but the 9k are a step above them, now i dont know if the 10.0 are just like the vectors pros, but if they are i think u will like the 9k better

I found the dream solution, I'm going to have Vector's made with a RBK last so the fit will be perfect :D

do both skate have the same cut??

do you mean lace cut, if so yeah there both almost identical since the vector and rbks are the same boot in essence

I'm going with the vector 10's but molded on a rbk last for wider feet. I will let you know if I made a good choice :)

What so hot about the vector? beside the fact you can get your number on the back of your skate!

If they both fit the same, and i'm sure they are both light skate, with same holder i think, why not get the skate that have an ''innovative'' things on them beside the one where you can just put your number on the back LOL!??

the new vector is lighter. The boot seemed stiffer around the foot in the 10.0 than the 9k. The width fit is very close so i can see how both felt good.

if you cant find the one you want with all these technology questions just ask who you like better....Ovechkin(10.0s) or Crosby(9ks)?

You have to go further than just having a big green pump on a skate to find innovation. The constrcution of the skate with the metal mesh and exo-skel is very intresting.

I'm also trying to decide between the 9K and the 10.0. I'm a big guy (6'2"-250lbs.) I have a pretty wide foot narrower at the heel and a high arch. I don't have a LHS that carries them so I will be ordering online. I will be an 11E. Also I like alot of forward lean/stride length. So what would you guys suggest?

id go with the rbk because the rbks fit a higher arch where the new ccms fit abit closer of a bauer arch then the old ccm arches.
