Taperd Shaft Help

Recommended Posts

So I broke my 3rd Vapor XV in about 5 months this morning at pick up. Just blocked a shot from about a foot away and it shattered the shaft 6 inches above the blade.

I really like this shaft, the shape is great and I like the grip on it but I'm going through them pretty quickly and I think it's time to look at something else.

Anyone have any suggestions? I want a concave shaft that has a decent grip. I'm thinking TPS Armor Control or Warrior Dolomite right now. I have an L2 and I'm not crazy about it and I'm not a big fan of Easton shafts.

TIA

I was using the Bauer XV shaft as well... a nice shaft. broke a few in a year so I just decided to go with the Dolomite Grip shaft. Oh My does this shaft rip it up! It's the livliest stick ever! Crazy shots and power from it.... can't speak for durability yet though. Through a wood blade in there and your golden!

Just make sure you want a flex <100 if you're going Warrior.

Thanks Mack, I'm using an 87 in Bauer so I was going to go with an 85 in Warrior. Are the flexes pretty much equal to the Easton scale?

I haven't noticed a difference; certainly not one that'd make someone change down to a 75.

i thought 1100 shaft = vapor XV = dolomite

no?

Almost positive the XV is a Bauer made shaft, not an Inno. Not sure if the Dolomite is the 1100 though.

well, i could very well be wrong :]

but for some reason though i remember thinking that the XV shaft was made by inno, but the XV blade was made by bauer...

maybe later i'll see if i can dig up a post on it...or at least i'll see if i'm on crack :]
