I agree with you Darkstar. It's pretty clear they're still trying to "sell" the game on NBC and OLN. But you're right, the only people watching are people that know hockey anyway. Trivia, and brief explanations of what icing are just flat-out annoying.

I'm not a huge fan of Doc, or JDs horse-voice (he always sounds sick or something). But after a Ranger-Devil game this year, I got a chance to get close to Doc. He was surrounded by a bunch of drunk Ranger fans, after the Devils had just beaten them, in MSG, and he handled the group so well. He was respectful and eloquent, and I noticed one drunk New Yorker put his arm around Doc like they were old buddies, and Doc didn't seem to care. He stayed and answered all the questions, and nobody gave him a hard time. I wish more people were that approachable. My hats off to him, and since then, I've laid off his game calling.
