I live in the suburbs of NJ without a ice rink anywhere near me. What should I do to improve my skating skills?

Isn't the entire state of NJ just one big suburb? I'd work on plyometrics as much as possible.

In addition to roller blading try working on your stick handling with one of those training balls (the hard ones the weight of a puck). Work on stick handling without looking at the ball.
