so in short.. unless you have had a feature in the newspaper, have been playing your entire life and have had a couple espn articles on you as the "next whatever"... you have about an icecubes chance in hell.

you're being a little pessimistic there. in big hockey markets (large northern cities) there are bunches of guys who don't get a lot of press coverage to THEM (maybe to their team winning something but you get the point) who still make it to the minors, play in Europe etc.

but you're right ... to be a "superstar" that lives in the NHL, doesn't have to play part of the year in the AHL or whatever, people are going to notice at a young age usually.

It depends guys, look at this year draft Giroux and Brassard, 2 guys were draft in first round and both were not draft in the OHL after their Midget AAA, Brassard doesn't even make the Gatineau team and after he went to Drumondville.
