Got a new home theater system

Got it on sale for $188 from bestbuy. The speakers on my tv drown out when the airconditioner turns on (my A/C isn't that loud.. its just that the speakers are weak). After maxing out the volume on my tv and having trouble on the quiet parts, we decided to get a home theater system. We have been using my ps2 to play videos too and that just wasn't cutting it.

Anyways, we got it monday and had it set up just in time to catch the Stanley Cup finals.. Let me just say that it was amazing.. It was almost like I was there.

Anyways, does anybody else have a nice theater system? Any recomendations to get some more juice out of mine or any tweeks that would make it even better?

YEA, I know exactly what you mean. I caught the last part of a game and it was amazing. The commentary was on the front speaker with the game sounds coming from the front left and right. All the while the crowd noise was channeled to the rear speakers.. It really felt like I was a part of the crowd and it made the entire thing a LOT more enjoyable.

I've got a Bose, sorry. I'm not really into that sort of thing (outside of enjoying it) and the system was purchased with our home.

Bose is really nice.. I couldn't afford a bose system if I wanted to.. They have a bose store here in Park City and I always stop in to go to their test theater.

I've got a Onkyo receiver/amplifier with Technic speakers and cd player, Toshiba DVD/DVD Audio player, JVC DVD Recorder and BEV (Bell ExpressVue).. 5 speakers and subwoofer system but need to change my center speaker as it is quite weak and the voices get drowned in action scenes. I don't usually use my home theater system when watching TV though, mainly when watching movies, concerts and DVD Audio

That Philips system doesnt look half bad for $209. Does have all the bells and whistles that a top-of-the-line system has, but it should get the job done. Definately a solid pickup for the price if you dont want to drop all your money on a top system.

I've got the new Bose Acoustimass 16 speaker system. It shakes the walls in my basement during those testosterone filled gunfights. :)
