I've had a full set of Smiths for just about a year now!! (SP1000, SC1000 and SB1000)

All his catchers and blockers are the same design, the different numbers relate to the different graffics.

Pete was the original designer of the Vaughn Velocities, rumor has it, he wanted to make changes and "improve" the Velo but Vaughn didnt want to, that is why Pete started on his own again.

He has the SP1000 - Like Velos

SP2000 - Flat Faced

SP3000 - Stock pads and only come in black and white (as far as i know)

SP4000 - SP2000's with an adjustable thigh rise

Tim Thomas of the Bruins wears SP1000's.

The pads are TOP quality made. Not one loose stich, no problems at all after a year of 2/3 hours per week use. The look almost like new (exept the puck marks)

Look at my avatar for a wee pic, if you want more i can post or email them to you.

Tim uses a hybrid pad that blends the the features of a couple of pete's pads.

The SP3000 is available in any single color, not just limited to black and white.

Pete has worked for a couple of different manu's and just decided that he wanted to do his own thing again, I think that that was probably good for the goaltending public.

He builds a quality product and I have no qualms about recommending it. I have a pair of sp1000s that I use for roller and a pair of sp2000s for ice - they rotate with my vk5s. When I've had any issues with them, pete has been quick to deal with it and on his own dime when he felt that it was warranted. I don't like his gloves but I believe that is a personal thing as I am quite picky about my gear.
