bulletproof_funk 0 Report post Posted June 29, 2006 So I'm getting all excited about trying out a pair of Kor skates when I go to Montreal in a couple weeks, then I call up the two stores in that area to find out that neither of them carry Kor anymore, nor are they planning to. The people I talked to at both stores suggested the Synergy 1500C as an alternative.I've skimmed through a number of threads so far but haven't found out exactly to what extent the 1500C's heat moldability is, i.e. how do the Synergys compare to the Kors in this respect? The key areas of my foot that I need heat molding are the ankle, heel, arch, and instep height (depth). I have a narrow heel, flat foot, low instep, and skinny ankles. Will the boot move only a bit in these areas, or will the boot become really flexible when heated and perfectly fit my foot?I could (possibly) order Kors from The Hockey Shop out in Surrey, BC or elsewhere, that is if the wider-availibility 1500C doesn't mold the way the Kors do.EDIT: I've changed the topic title to something that makes more sense. Chadd 916 Report post Posted June 30, 2006 The 1500 doesn't mold the same way the Kor does.

bulletproof_funk 0 Report post Posted June 30, 2006 The 1500 doesn't mold the same way the Kor does.My understanding is the 1500C is not exactly narrow at the heel out of the box. If this is so, then the boot won't "compress" at the heel during heat molding, correct? What about the ankle area, will that compress in as well? Check the kor website for a list of their dealers.I got the number of the two Montreal stores from Kor's web site actually. The number of dealers seems to be shrinking though: two stores here in Ottawa were also listed before but quickly stopped carrying Kor. Now it looks like Kor will have to remove another two stores from their list.
Shagel 0 Report post Posted June 30, 2006 easton holders and steal suck soo you might wanna consider that
bulletproof_funk 0 Report post Posted June 30, 2006 Holders can be swapped out if needed so I'm not worried about that. Besides, they won't mean much if the boots themself don't mold to my foot properly.
Patrick67 1 Report post Posted June 30, 2006 what about BauerOne90?What's the difference in molding technique between them and Kors/1500c?
bulletproof_funk 0 Report post Posted June 30, 2006 The footbed in the One90 is a concern. Bauers have always given me arch pains in the past. After having talked with JR about the One90 as a possibility, I do not believe its arch will shape to my flat foot after heat molding.
Patrick67 1 Report post Posted June 30, 2006 On the topic of Bauers and arch's- (didn't think it deserved an entire thread)I have narrow heel, normal midfoot & normal toearea, with a very high arch. (and skinny ankles, since I'm a skinny guy)Which Brand would fit my feet best? On the topic of Bauer footbeds & flat feet: you can try the shockdoctor footbed trick, where you cut of the arch area of the footbeds.
