B's making another big signing

Recommended Posts

I heard 5 years, $20 million. I think thats what TSN said. It'll be interesting to see if he can continue to put up points without Kovalchuk/Heatley/Hossa.

I think he'll put up decent numbers, but not top 10 guys. The Bruins are getting better, but the 2 players they signed seem to be overrated.

Although 4mill is a good deal for Savard in my eyes.

The Bruins have improved but as you mentioned Chara is incredibly overated.

Right now they have knowone to play with Savard because I doubt they'll want to break up the Boyes-Bergeron-Strum line.

Man I can't figure out Boston.

They have probably the second most promising center in the league, behind Crosby, in Bergeron. He has put up very good numbers last year and is the future of their franchise. But now you go and get Savard, at 4 mils a year. At that price, he's gotta be your no. 1 center. If you do that, you take away some ice time from Bergeron, therefore interfering with his development. Instead, they should've signed a winger, to play with Bergeron. Yes Savard is a very center, a no.1 center at the nhl level, but did Boston really need and no. 1 center? Hell no, not when you've got Bergeron.

Also, I don't think Chara is gonna help them much. If you watched a few games of the sens last year, you would've noticed that Chara could not play against fast teams. He's easy to deek, much like Souray here in Mtl. He's very overated, and not worth even 6 mils, so 7.5 is ridiculous. It's easy to look good when your partner is someone named Wade Redden, or Chris Philips, or any of the sens d-men...

Unless there is a tarde coming up, Boston is in trouble:

Savard->center-> 4 millions

Zhamnoz->center-> 4.1 millions

Bergeron->center->RFA who's gonna cost quite a bit of money, at least 2.5 mils, if not more.

Is anyone gonna want Alex Zhamnov, who by the way hasn't produced for like 4 years, and pay him 4.1 millions?Nahh...don't think so.

Bergeron used to play wing at times.

Yes he did, but he's better when he plays center. And personnaally, if I had him as my franchise player, I'd want him to develop as a center not a winger.
