Recommended Posts

i know there was alot of talk about the TFG on corebeam, but i never really looked at them. i am thinking about getting a couple. are they any good? durable? hows the kick on it? and which bauer curve is most similar to iginla? i usually use synergies, but the blades are breaking like dry twigs.

thanks guys

The TFG isn't a pricepoint OPS though. It's just got hella low prices because the Vapor XX came around.

It used to Bauer's top end ops before the xx came out. The p88 (Lindros) is probably your best bet for an iginla-like curve.

I got 3 TFGs, 2 Heatleys (P106) and 1 Lindros (P88), all 87 flex. Very nice stick, good feel for an OPS, awesome durability so far, a very mild and yet effective grip. Handle is smaller than average though.

Weight is between 495 and 505 grams (uncut).

I have had mine since Christmas and its still in good shape. It was the first OPS I have ever used and it took a while to get use to stickhandling, but that was probably because it was my first OPS. My slap shots are much betterwith the tfg and my shots seem to be quicker. I beleive before corebeam got shut down TFG was rated the best OPS of the year in the corebeam awards. Someone can correct me if I'am wrong. Bottom line though, It's a good stick and well worth the money.

hey hockeyshank how big are you because i am thinking of getting 2 in 87flex with gange curves

I am 6"2, 210 lbs. However, there is no straight connection between your size and the flex you (should) use. 87 flex is great for me.

I used a (friend's) TFG a couple of times and found it to be amazing with regards to releasing a quick shot on the move or stationary. On the subject of durability, he's had it for over 5 months and it's still going strong. Just be careful what flex you buy - he picked up a 112 - perfect for me, but I weigh about 40lbs more than him (215 vs 175), and it does really depend what shots you prefer too...

I seem to be the only one that had trouble with the TFG. I snapped two of them in a two or two and a half week period with about 10 ice times. They felt great at the start, I was ripping shots, stickhandling was great, receiving/giving passes was fine, but then the first one broke in the middle of the shaft stepping into a one timer. So I got the replacement soon after, then in a few more games it snapped when I hacked a guy across the back of the leg in frong of the net. Thankfully the store I go to isn't filled with jerks, so they called Bauer and sorted it all out and gave me the option of a new one of store credit, so I just took the store credit and picked up two new sherwood woodies, and I still have about 140 bucks of credit at the store. I don't know why mine sucked so bad, I had 112 flex in both and I am about 6'0 or 6'1 and 185 lbs... could have just been a bad batch that my store recieved.
