Rookie of the Year ?

Recommended Posts

Plus the fact that a great goalie will get less attention than a great player.  IMO, Lundqvist should have been 3rd in rookie voting behind Crosby and Ovechkin.

It was simply him carrying the defense while Jagr carried the offense.  No easy task by either.

And Miller should have been fourth.

If Cam Ward had played four fewer games I would go with him. The rookia class this coming year isn't going to be anything like last year, we'll have to wait and see. I think a defenseman will win this year; Staal(NYR), Jack Johnson, Erik Johnson, Braydon Coburn or Cam Barker.

Is Coburn set to make the team? What about Shawn Belle in Minny? Those two guys dominated the WHL a few years ago, and both were picked high in their draft year. I'm interested to see how they pan out.

I haven't talked to Bob this year but that was the plan last year.

He seems to be developing pretty slowly. I wouldn't call him an elite defence prospect the way some people would.

Still will always remember him for the World Jr. Championship game.

if the pens can get him to the states. Last I heard they wanted 97854327593259jhtmn2923 million to get him out of his contract.

Wasn't there a news story lately that the RSL had finally concluded an agreement with the NHL, opening the door for Malkin to come over?

and then again you could get a goalie like lundquist(sp?) from the rangers. some goalie whos a played a few years in the ahl and is a bit older and turns it on this season for a team with goaltending needs and carries them to the playoffs. with no clearcut choice except malkin maybe, theres really a wide open shot for any rookie who finds their game and is put in the right situation, ie. a weaker team where you get tons of ice and pp time.

Lundqvist is very young. 23? And he never played in the AHL. Do some research before replying.

Sorry for not studying the entire history of all nhl players. I was just making a point that most goalies come up from the AHL or for you stubborn ones European leagues and I was just saying that most goalies play professional in other leagues before the nhl unlike some players who can make the jump from junior leagues. And just to prove my point Ryan Miller would be an example of a player from the AHL who made the jump. And I did my research I know he played in 18 NHL games between his stints in the AHL but thats just because Buffalo was in dyer need of a goalie at the time and they realized he wasnt fully developed yet and let him develop in the AHL and by the looks of it, it has turned him into a top notch NHL goalie.

That's what I thought too, I heard that a while ago on my XM radio. That he was officially aloud to come over now?

I haven't seen any info on the agreement so I don't know if it applies to players drafted before the agreement was signed.
